Declan's made a lot of friendships over the years. Starting from his days at Hogwarts on into his adulthood, but there are a few that really matter to him.
Cabhan is someone Declan cares for deeply, even loves. He never expressed his feelings in their school days and that ate away at him for the years he was abroad. But now...
He also knows Derek, they've done a few expeditions together. He never went on one with Adeline, but he met her when preparing for one as she was coming back from her own.
