Full Name: Morrigan Devlin
Nicknames: Red, The Red Devil
Age: 30
Birthdate: October 13, 1975
Profession: Proprietor of The Last Port, a pub in Hogsmeade
Personality:
Morrigan is a woman of extremes. Fiercely loyal, brutally honest, and stubborn enough to argue with a wall if she believes she's right, she has never been particularly good at being what others expected her to be. She possesses a sharp wit and an even sharper tongue, often speaking before considering whether her words might offend someone. While many mistake her bluntness for cruelty, the truth is that Morrigan simply values honesty over comfort. If she cares about someone, she'll tell them exactly what they need to hear, whether they like it or not.
Beneath the bravado lies a woman carrying scars that never fully healed. Since the war, Morrigan has cultivated a reputation for being unstable, eccentric, and perhaps a little mad. She rarely bothers correcting people. It's easier that way. People who think she's insane tend to leave her alone, and solitude is something she's grown accustomed to. Though she hides it behind sarcasm, alcohol, and occasional recklessness, Morrigan struggles with lingering trauma, trust issues, and emotions she never learned how to express properly. Those fortunate enough to earn her loyalty discover a fiercely protective friend willing to move mountains for the people she considers family.

History
Morrigan was born into the Devlin family, an old Irish pure-blood line with a long history of influence, wealth, and fiercely traditional beliefs. The Devlins prided themselves on their magical heritage and expected absolute loyalty from every member of the family. Raised on Clare Island off Ireland's western coast, Morrigan grew up hearing stories about the importance of blood, family, and preserving magical traditions. While she inherited her family's stubbornness and fiery nature, she never fully embraced many of their beliefs. Still, family was family, and for most of her life she followed the path expected of her without much protest.
After graduating from Hogwarts in 1993, Morrigan returned home and became increasingly involved in family affairs. Everything changed when rumors began spreading that Lord Voldemort had returned. Like many old pure-blood families, the Devlins quietly welcomed the possibility. What began as whispered support gradually evolved into open allegiance. By the time Voldemort's return became undeniable, several members of the Devlin family had willingly aligned themselves with his cause.
Morrigan tried to ignore it at first. She told herself blood mattered more than politics. She convinced herself that family loyalty demanded silence. But as the war escalated and she witnessed the cruelty being committed in Voldemort's name, she found herself increasingly unable to stand by. The breaking point came when her family openly pledged themselves to the Dark Lord and expected her to do the same. Morrigan refused.
Her refusal was viewed as treason.
Rather than kill her outright, the Devlins decided to make an example of her. Over the course of days that stretched into weeks, they repeatedly subjected her to Dark Magic. Sectumsempra was cast over and over again, inflicting deep wounds only to heal them enough to continue. Their goal wasn't simply punishment; they intended to break her will and force her obedience. They failed.
When the tide of the war eventually turned and authorities began closing in on Voldemort's supporters, the Devlins fled. Morrigan, barely alive, was abandoned and left behind to die. She survived only because she was discovered before her injuries became fatal. Though her body eventually healed, the damage to her mind proved far more difficult to repair.
During her recovery she came under the care of Dr Aidan Blackwood. He became one of the few people who truly knew what had happened to her and one of even fewer who understood that the "madness" everyone whispered about was largely an act designed to keep others at a distance. Their relationship remains complicated. Morrigan doesn't like discussing it, mostly because she has never figured out whether she wants to hex him, avoid him entirely, or trust him with things she refuses to tell anyone else.
Today she runs The Last Port in Hogsmeade. Most locals know her as the foul-mouthed Irish pub owner with a penchant for trouble and a tendency to say whatever comes to mind. Few realize how much of that reputation is carefully cultivated. Fewer still know the truth behind the scars she keeps hidden beneath glamour charms and sarcasm.
