personalityIsabelle is a shy, introverted girl who is rarely anxious around others, simply more comfortable keeping to herself. She is almost constantly lost in her own thoughts, which can make her seem distant or unapproachable from the outside. She rarely approaches people unless she has a reason to, but when someone speaks to her first, she is surprisingly warm, polite, and easy to talk to. She is happy to join a conversation when invited, though she can be somewhat oblivious to social cues and often struggles to tell whether someone is merely being friendly or genuinely wants to be her friend. Because she tends to take things quite literally, subtle hints and unspoken intentions often go completely over her head.

Where Isabelle lacks in social awareness, she makes up for it with her creativity and imagination. Her mind is constantly wandering, coming up with stories, ideas, theories, or unusual solutions to problems. She can become completely absorbed in whatever has captured her interest and lose track of everything happening around her. Despite her quiet nature, Isabelle is genuinely kind and considerate, often caring more deeply than she knows how to express. She may not always know how to make friends, but once she does become close to someone, she is loyal for life.

historyIsabelle was born a healthy girl to a newlywed couple in Swansea, Wales. She grew up like any other child of the 1990s - a perfectly ordinary Muggle girl in an ordinary Muggle household. Her childhood was filled with scraped knees, afternoons spent playing outside with the neighbourhood children, television shows watched from the living room floor, and books piled beside her bed. There was nothing about her that seemed particularly extraordinary.

Sometimes, strange things happened when Isabelle became upset. Toys would move when she wasn't looking. Glasses occasionally cracked on their own. Her parents always found some reasonable explanation for it, even when there wasn't one. Inexplainable things happen.

As she grew older, however, Isabelle became increasingly withdrawn. She was never particularly unpleasant or unfriendly, she simply found it easier to be alone. Her interests seemed strange to the other children her age, and while her classmates were becoming interested in the latest trends, Isabelle was more fascinated by old books and children stories. She often felt as though she were a step behind everyone else.

The one person she never felt out of place around was her baby brother. He was her constant companion throughout much of her childhood, and Isabelle was fiercely protective of him. She read stories to him, entertained him when their parents were busy, and patiently answered all the questions he could think to ask.

Then, shortly after her eleventh birthday, everything Isabelle thought she knew about herself changed.

A letter arrived that informed her that she had been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. At first, Isabelle assumed it was some elaborate joke, however a Ministry representative arrived to explain everything to the family.

For the first time, all those unexplained incidents from her childhood suddenly made sense.

Her first year at Hogwarts was overwhelming. The castle was enormous, ancient, and unlike anything she had ever experienced. Although Isabelle found it fascinating, she was also quietly terrified of it. She adapted in the only way she knew how... by keeping to herself.

Isabelle was never the sort of student who sought attention. She spoke when spoken to, listened carefully in lessons, and preferred the company of books to crowded common rooms. While other students gathered in groups after classes, she could usually be found tucked away somewhere in the library, surrounded by old parchment and textbooks.

Over the years, the library became her refuge. She studied constantly, often far beyond what was required, but she also began writing stories of her own. She filled notebooks with half-finished tales, strange characters, distant worlds, and ideas she never shared with anyone. Writing gave her somewhere to put all the thoughts she struggled to express aloud.

Despite spending most of her years quietly on the edges of school life, Isabelle slowly became comfortable in her own solitude. She never became particularly outgoing, nor did she suddenly acquire a large circle of friends. And she didn't mind that. But even comfortable life gets lonely sometimes...
